Halftone AI

How Halftone AI collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data.

Last updated 5 October 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Halftone AI ("Halftone AI", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use our AI-powered image and video generation platform available at https://halftoneai.app (the "Platform" or "Service").

Halftone AI is operated by Chettaniya Verma, sole proprietor, having a place of business at 02, Central Colony, 80 Ft Road, Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh – 457001, India. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), we act as the Data Fiduciary for the personal data we process.

This Policy is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the DPDP Act, 2023.

By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

a) Account and identity data — your name, email address, and login credentials when you register.

b) Payment data — billing details necessary to process your subscription. Card and bank details are collected and stored directly by our payment processor, not by us; we receive only limited transaction information (e.g. status, last four digits, plan).

c) User Content — the text prompts, images, videos, and files you upload or generate ("Input" and "Output"). Uploaded images or videos may contain personal data, including images of individuals.

d) Usage and analytics data — how you interact with the Service, features used, generation history, and preferences, and how you first found us (for example the page, advertising campaign or website that referred you), recorded when you sign up.

e) Technical and device data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, log data, and cookies (see Section 11).

3. How We Collect Data

We collect data directly from you (when you register, upload content, subscribe, or contact us), automatically (through cookies and analytics as you use the Platform), and from third parties such as our payment processor and authentication providers.

4. Purposes for Which We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

  • create and manage your Account;
  • provide, operate, and deliver the Service, including generating Output from your Input;
  • process subscriptions, payments, and renewals;
  • maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service;
  • improve and develop our Service, models, and features;
  • respond to your queries and provide support;
  • send service-related and, with your consent, promotional communications; and
  • comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

Under the DPDP Act, we process your personal data on the basis of your consent and, where applicable, for legitimate uses permitted by law.

5. How AI Processing and Your Content Work

When you submit Input, it is processed by our systems and/or trusted third-party AI model and cloud providers to generate Output. You should be aware that:

  • your Input and Output may be temporarily stored and processed on our and our providers' infrastructure to deliver the Service;
  • we may use your Input and Output to train and improve our AI models and Service. Where we do so, we anonymise or aggregate the data wherever practicable so that it is not used to identify you. You may opt out of the use of your content for model training by adjusting your Account settings, or by contacting us at support@halftoneai.app;
  • you are responsible for not uploading content you do not have the rights to, and for not uploading others' personal data without their consent.

6. How We Share Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Service providers / Data Processors who help us run the Platform — including cloud hosting, AI model providers, payment processors, and analytics providers — under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and only to the extent necessary;
  • Legal and regulatory authorities, where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, users' safety, or to report unlawful content (including CSAM); and
  • A successor entity, in the event of a business transfer, merger, or acquisition, subject to this Policy.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to provide the Service, and to comply with legal obligations. When you delete your Account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention or dispute resolution). Uploaded files and generated Output are deleted within 30 days of Account deletion; residual backups are purged in the ordinary course thereafter.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational security measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure infrastructure — to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed or stored on servers located outside India by our cloud or AI providers. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection consistent with applicable law and any restrictions notified by the Government of India under the DPDP Act.

10. Children's Data

The Service is for adults only and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children. If you believe a child has created an Account or provided us data, contact us at chettaniya.verma@halftoneai.app and we will delete the Account and the associated data.

11. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and analyse usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect functionality.

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads to understand how visitors find and use the Platform and to measure whether our advertising works — for example, whether a visit from an ad led to a sign-up or a purchase. These services set their own cookies and receive usage data such as pages visited, sign-up and purchase events (including the amount paid), and a pseudonymous user identifier. They do not receive your prompts, uploads or generated content.

12. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, and in particular the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • access a summary of the personal data we process about you;
  • correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • erase your personal data where it is no longer necessary;
  • withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect prior lawful processing);
  • nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity; and
  • grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer, and, if unsatisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

13. Third-Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.

14. Grievance Officer and Contact

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the DPDP Act, 2023, the contact details of our Grievance Officer / Data Protection contact are:
